Boston Day 1 - Harvard, Cambridge

We landed around 8 am, it wasn't hot but so humid - muggy is the best way to describe Boston. Can I just begin with people here are so nice. We talked to about three different people to help us find our hotel and they were all so very helpful. Boston has been nothing but a treat.

We were too early to check in so we dropped off our bags and purchased our 7 day bus passes and made our way to Harvard. The college town is super cute. We found our way to the Natural History Museum and began exploring its massive floor of artifacts.

I was starving after the museum and we yelped some places close by. Clover was the first to come up. It had 600 reviews on yelp so we thought it would be great. Its super vegetarian and for our first meal in Boston we wanted something a little more substantial. We walked a little bit further to the Crema Cafe and it was absolutely delicious. It wasn't as substantial as we would have liked but we got a table out front and was able to get some really good people watching. They stopped serving breakfast which was kind of a bummer but the meat quiche and the curried chicken salad sandwich was a nice stand in. My favorite part was the hot chocolate, it was amazing. They really know how to do their beverages.

We made our way back to the hotel stopping in a few boutiques along the way. We checked in around 2 pm and took a very satisfying nap. When we woke up, we took our time getting ready to meet up with Kevin's future sister-in-laws, Kailan & Mckenna.

She took us to Dolce Vita Ristorante and it was the best. The owner was there and he greets all his customers as they walk through the door. He checked on us as we were eating to make sure everyone was having a good time and even sang to the restaurant during the night. They have a policy that if you don't like the food, you don't pay. I can't see how anyone would not like their food. I got the shrimp gnocchi with rose sauce. AMAZING!

Afterwards we went to Mike's Pastry for dessert, best cannoli's in town which also explains the line around the block. We got the original, chocolate ricotta, and pistachio cannolis and ate them at the North End Park overlooking the downtown skyline.

Next we made our way to this dive to dance the night away. We were having such a great time, we weren't ready to say goodnight so Kailan took us back to her apartment and we walked to the beach. After an hour or two, we made our way home.
