Portland Trip - Day 3

We took our time waking up and called down to get a late checkout. We hung out in the pool for an hour before we ate left over donuts and got ready to leave the hotel.

We walked over to Tasty n Alder but we got there at 11:30 am and they weren't taking anymore names... so we walked down a block to Cheryl's on 12th, a 15 minute wait and they gave us this amazing table outside in the shade so that we could properly people watch. Cheryl's give you free beignets and oh my god are they delicious. Kevin got a Moscow mule and a salmon Benedict. I got the huevos rancheros and a hot chocolate. It was a good brunch, the highlight being the beignets.

After brunch we started walking back to the car and stumbled onto Powell's Book. It is an independent bookstore where you can shop new, used, rare, and out-of-print books. We spent a few hours here just finding great little books. I found some of my childhood favorites and we found some great books that we plan on sharing with our friends and family.

Next I took the first shift of driving to the Woodburn Premium Outlets because no sales tax in Oregon (FTW) and 50% off memorial weekend sales! We got our winter gear for the London trip we will be taking in February from North Face. We also got some summer gear for our Mexico trip from J Crew. We left the outlets around 5 pm and grabbed dinner at Red Robin's.

Kevin took the first shift and drove to the California border. Did you know that you have to go through border patrol to get into California... I did not. We, Californians, are quite selective. We stopped, got gas and I drove the rest of the way home. We drove into our driveway around 2 am and immediately knocked out.

All in all it was an amazing trip!
